Lovena V asked:

My husband & have been married for 4 years & we need Christian marriage counseling badly. I’m wondering if it will really help us out, we don’t want to divorce but don’t want to go on living unhappy lives together either.

Have you ever tried marriage counseling? How did it help you out? What should I look out for when selecting a good Christian marriage counselor?

My wife and I are going through some troubles in our relationship. We don’t really fight at all in our marriage, but a few little problems came at once and we couldn’t handle it like normal couples. Now we talk about divorce a lot, but I don’t want that to be an option. We have been married for 5 years, we have 2 beautiful kids and we are both only 24 years old. I know couples go through really tough times together, but since we are not really used to problems.

Wondering if someone tried marriage counseling. I heard it was a lot of money and I don’t have any money, but I am willing to work 2 jobs to pay for it if it will make us stronger and better.

Ol Pete asked:

My wife started taking paxil for anxiety. She has gone crazy, made really bad decisions. Any way it has landed us in a divorce, I am not sure to blame the Paxil or not, but there has been a definite change in her since she started taking it, progressively getting worse and worse.

Harold J asked:

I have been working with a married woman that I get along with very well. She moved here last fall with her husband. We have similar backgrounds, similar interests and similar goals (Military career). We always like to work with each other and when we do we just talk and talk and talk.

She is helping me prepare for the ROTC by helping me achieve the physical requirements by training twice a week as well as quizzing me on the mental. She is making time for me.

Now here’s the problem. I just found out she has been having marital problems since she moved here. Her husband has been emotionally abusive, even though she is meeting ROTC physical requirements her husband says she’s not thin enough ans has threatened divorce because of it*. She was married four months prior to moving here**. So I’ve been having doubts about her motives. All this time I thought she was married and off limits. Now…I’m conflicted. I don’t know what to do, what can I do? I would be interested if she is***.
Didn’t have enough room to add details.

*Among other things including telling him he outright hates her.

** She has been married for about a year.

***I think she is. The way she looks at me just screams of interest.
* Correction, HE outright hates HER.

What would you do if you were pregnant and having marital problems?

Jenny D asked:

After 10 years together, 1 year married, my husband is not sure he wants to be married anymore. He seems to want to be able to date other women and I even found a myspace account of his where he was meeting some. After personally contacting most of the girls, I did not find any evidence of a physical relationship but I believe the intent was there. Our baby is due in less than 3 months and I’m contemplating moving back home where my family is 3 hours away. My husband and I began counseling today and will see how that goes. My question is, do I owe it to my baby to stick around and try to work this out with my husband or is what he did unforgiveable? He says he’s not sure what he wants. If I move home and have the baby there, do you think I’d regret not having my husband be part of the birth? What should I do?

Me asked:

My husband’s in the 82nd and we’ve been having some marital problems since he got back from Iraq 8 months ago…its to the point now we need counseling or a separation. The Army isn’t exactly a 9 - 5 job and marriage counselors aren’t 24/7, so would my husband’s unit let him have time off to see one?
We just decided tonight on counseling and I’m going to start looking for one tomorrow…I’m just curious how it would work.
