ponderingthings asked: we’ve been together for ~6years. At first all was good. Then things turned ugly when he started cheating. We split many times, I went through deep depressions. He would beg to come back and we did, each time. He was the perfect man in every sense except I didnt trust him and would think of other women with him. This started affecting me sexually through time where I could not focus. About 1 year ago he made a drastic change in which he decided to be non-cheating, homebody husband. The problem is that now, my sexual evolution has gotten worse to the point where I dread having *** with him. I dont think about the other women anymore. I am just NOT excited by him anymore, though I find him physically attractive. I’ve tried a romantic getaway, and new ways but still hard for me to get into the moment. I cannot enjoy myself with him - get aroused.
Is this reason enough to leave my marriage or am I being unrealistic?

emily1980 asked: I got his number from the phone book and I called and we had a long conversation on the phone. He seemed knowledgable, but he answers his own phone and runs his business at his home. Something just seems weird about him - the way he talks and stuff. I don’t know. What are some cues to look for to know if this guy is a weirdo or not?

confused asked: Ok, if any of you have read my previous questions, you know my marriage has some issues. My husband and I want to try to fix things and go to counseling. I’ll admit…I am a little prideful about the whole “needing help” idea. How can I not feel so ashamed to need help with our marriage? Both of us need issues resolved, but can’t do it on our own, we’ve tried working thru things by ourselves, but it just never works. So, how is counseling going to be any different at all? Anyone with any experience in marriage counseling?

HappyHippo asked: My friend and his wife are on the brink of divorce because of lack of communication between them. His wife refuses to go to counseling because she says that is for screwed up people.
I don’t get this, we are all screwed up! Even if you have a happy marriage you can benefit from counseling because you are learning ways to communicate.
About a year before my wife and I married we went to premartial counseling. I learned a lot about communication and learned how to protect my marriage (from my own mother) by setting up boundaries. And honestly, we are very happy now that I have learned to keep my mother away from my relationship with my wife.
We can always improve ourselves and there is nothing wrong with admitting you aren’t perfect and can use some improvement.
Why do people think marriage counseling is so bad?
I needed counseling before I married because of ME, my problems were affecting our relationship.
Improving MYSELF benefiting our relationship in a positive way.
